Why this number matters

Catering quotes are per head, but your true cost per guest includes a share of everything fixed: the venue, the photographer, the band. That makes the guest list the most powerful budget lever you have.

• Catering total = per-guest catering cost × guests
• Grand total = catering total + fixed costs
• True cost per guest = grand total ÷ guests

Keep in mind

• Catering quotes often exclude tax, gratuity, and bar upgrades — ask what's included before comparing.
